That is, DOWNLOADING WECHAT.
WeChat is a Chinese chat app that almost everyone you meet in China has. Most Chinese people prefer WeChat to texts, calls or emails! Here are some tips on what to do:
- Download the app and learn how to use it ahead of time.
- In Chinese, the app is called “Wei Xin” (pronounced ‘Way Seen’ or ዌ ሲን). So when you want to add someone on WeChat, you can say “Ni you wei xin ma? ኒ ዮ ዌ ሲን ማ?). This means “Do you have WeChat?”
- And here is the most important tip of all. Most Chinese people will not write their names in English on their WeChat profiles. Some do not even use their real names. So, sometimes, you add someone and you may not know who they are a few days later! To make sure that you know who they are, when you add them, click on the “EDIT ALIAS” button. Then write something like “Mr. Wang from Huawei.” That way, you will always know who they are!

ዊ ቻት የቻይና የመነጋገሪያ አፕ ሲሆን የሚያጋጥሟቹ ቻይናውያን ሁሉ ይህን አፕ ይጠቀማሉ። እንዲያውም ቻይናውያን በብዛት ከቴክስትም ከኢሜይልም ሆነ ከስልክ ይልቅ በዊ ቻት መነጋገርን ይመርጣሉ።
ስለ ዊ ቻት አጠቃቀም አንድአንድ ነገር ልንገርዎት።
- ከቻይናውያን ጋራ ከመገናኘትዎት በፊት አፑን ዳውንሎድ አድርገው ይጠብቁ።
- ይህ አፕ በቻይንኛ Wei Xin (ዌ ሲን) ነው የሚባለው። ከአንድ አዲስ ሰው ጋራ ሲገናኙ “ኒ ዮ ዌ ሲን ማ?” ብለው መጠየቅ ይችላሉ። “ዊ ቻት አለህ/አለሽ ወይ?”ብሎ እንደመጠየቅ ነው።
- ብዙ ቻይናውያን የዊ ቻት ፕሮፋይላቸው ላይ ስማቸውን በቻይንኛ ነው የሚፅፉት። አንዳንዶች ደግሞ ጭራሽ የእወነት ስማቸውን አይፅፉም። ስለዚህ አንዳንዴ ማን ማን እንደሆነ ለማወቅ ያሰቸግራል። ይሄንን ችግር ለመቅረፍ አንድን ሰው ዊ ቻት ላይ ሲያገኙ “EDIT ALIAS” የሚለው ሊንክ ላይ ክሊክ ያድርጉ። ከዛም የራስዎትን ማስታወሻ ይፃፉ። ለምሳሌ “Mr. Wang from Huawei” ብለው በመፃፍ ሰውየው ማን እንደሆነ ሁሌም እንዳይጠፋብዎት ማድረግ ይችላሉ።
